Blue Eye is a quality seafood restaurant on Hobart’s waterfront, cooking fresh and tasty local fish and seafood.  We have a modern menu specialising in oysters, grilled fish dishes and fish and chips.

AFTERNOON OYSTER ORGY

ALL RAW OYSTERS $2 EACH – 3PM TO 5 PM – TUESDAY TO SATURDAY

Our freshly shucked oysters from the Tasmanian Oyster Co. are perfect served natural with a squeeze of lemon or alternatively topped with white soy, chilli + ginger, or shallot + red wine vinagarette.

OUR MENU

We use the best, fresh local seafood purchased daily from our local fish suppliers.  Local speciality fish includes blue eye trevalla, king and mirror dory, swordfish, pink ling, flathead, oysters, scallops, octopus and local calamari.

In addition to our main menu we also have daily seasonal specials on our blackboard.  Recent specials have included Miso Glazed Swordfish with ramen noodles in a shitake mushroom broth; and Chargrilled Blue Eye with braised red cabbage, carrot puree, broccolini and salsa verde.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Our  menu offers gluten free, dairy free and non-seafood options.   We have  gluten free pasta, bread and plenty of grilled fish options. All gluten free dishes are marked on the menu.  Our chips and gluten free dishes are cooked in a dedicated fryer.

Please let us know if you have any specific requirements. We take all care in the preparation of your meals but cannot guarantee completely allergy-free meals due to the potential of trace allergens in the working environment and supplied ingredients.

OPENING HOURS

We are open for dinner on Monday from 5 pm and Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner from 12 noon to 10 pm.  Closed on Sunday.

Please note that our kitchen closes around 9 to 9:30 pm (sometimes earlier in the winter months) so bookings are recommended.
